How to Plan a Trip to Crissy Airfield, California

To imagine what life was like in the early 1920s you can visit Crissy Army Airfield. This Army aviation complex has been well maintained over the years with few updates. It is in San Francisco, California, inside The Presidio, which is an area that encompasses all the National Parks and sites within the Bay area.

Step1
On Sunday, Tuesday through Thursday they are open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday they are open 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Call to check the hours and holiday availability at (916) 442-2883.
Step2
To reach the Presidio by car from the north, cross the Golden Gate Bridge on Highways 1 and 101. If you are traveling from the east use Lombard Street or Highway 101 and from the south use Highway 1.
Step3
You can take the railway lines numbers 28, 29, 43, and 82X or go by bus on the Golden Gate Transit.
Step4
The Crissy Airfield Museum provides children under five, Veterans, Armed Forces Members and members holding a valid membership card with free admission. For all other prices call (916) 442-2883.
Step5
Visit the Crissy Field Center along with Crissy Field. The Field Center has interactive exhibits, food and drinks, a souvenir store and beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. The hours of operation are all week long from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • If traveling by air use the San Francisco, San Jose or Oakland International Airports.
