New Hampshire requires a general archery, fishing or hunting license for anyone who is 16 years old and above. Hunters under 16 years old need a license for Bear, Broodstock Salmon, Archery Deer and Unit M deer tags, but do not need to file a Harvest Information Survey or pay a Wildlife Habitat Fee. Non-residents under 16 need a muzzleloader license.

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Printer to print your license
  1. Step 1

Go to the New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) website and apply online if you held a New Hampshire hunting license for the year 2000 or later. You will need a credit card, driver's license and previous New Hampshire hunting license or current license if you are buying additional licenses.

  2. Step 2

Download the application from the NHFG website. Print and complete it. Mail it along with a copy of your driver's license or other photo identification, a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check for the correct total. A fee schedule is included on the application.

  3. Step 3

Apply in person with a license agent. The NHFG website offers a list of locations. Bring your driver's license or other photo ID with you. The methods of payment will be determined by the license agent.

  4. Step 4

Provide the driver's license or state identification number of your parent or legal guardian if you are younger than 18 years old and do not have a driver's license.

  5. Step 5

You must 68 years old or older and a resident of New Hampshire to get a permanent hunting license free.
