How to Check Symptoms on WebMD

It has happened to all of us. We have some strange symptoms and find that they aren't quite serious enough to place a call to the doctor. To find out the possible causes of your symptoms, you can log onto WebMD and use their Symptom Checker for a possible diagnosis.

Instructions

    • 1

Head to the WebMD homepage at webmd.com. Once there, click on the "Symptom Checker" icon.

    • 2

Start by providing basic information about yourself. This includes age and gender. You can also fill in the optional zip code field.

    • 3

Click on the part of the body where your symptoms are occurring. You should see a female or male diagram to use. As you scroll over the body, the body part's name will come up.

    • 4

Pick a more specific part of the body. Once you zoom to the general area, you need to select the exact area where the symptoms are occurring.

    • 5

Find your symptoms from the provided list. Each symptom you choose will open a window that asks for more details.

    • 6

Look through possible conditions. WebMD lets you know what conditions are associated with your symptoms. Click through each condition to find out more information.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are experiencing severe symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.

  • If you need to check symptoms from more than one part of the body, simply zoom out on the body and pick a different area. Your other symptoms will still be saved.

  • Do not use any treatment for your suspected condition until you speak to a physician.
