Homemade Halloween name tags help identify the ghouls racing around your party and provide a great Halloween craft activity. Pumpkin name tags are easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time. Set aside a special table just for name tags and let your guests decorate their own pumpkins at the beginning of the party or when your little ghosts need some quiet time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pumpkin shaped cookie cutter
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Orange construction paper
  • Double sided tape with dispenser
  • Black washable marker
  • Crayons or washable colored markers
  1. Step 1

Trace a pumpkin shape, using a cookie cutter, on orange construction paper lightly with a pencil. Cut, with scissors, the pumpkin shape from orange construction paper.

  2. Step 2

Cut as many pumpkin shapes as you have guests attending the party. Prepare extra shapes for unexpected guests or when a creative mistake is made. Cutting the shapes ahead of time simplifies the entire name tag activity.

  3. Step 3

Set up a specific coloring table for your party. Place double sided tape, colored markers and crayons along with your precut construction paper pumpkins on the coloring table.

  4. Step 4

Create sample pumpkin name tags to provide visual instructions for your guests. Print names in black and decorate the rest of the pumpkin using crayons and markers. Use your double sided tape to attach the sample name tags, as Halloween decorations to the table, chairs or other safe surfaces.

  5. Step 5

Steer your guests to the name tag table as they arrive at the party. This activity can also be used as a diversion when your party guests need a little quite time.

  6. Step 6

Comment on the name tags your guests are wearing. Children and adults enjoy when their artwork is noticed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Halloween coloring pages are available online from a variety of sources. Downloading these pages and printing them on orange paper allows a hostess to easily create more complicated pumpkin name tags.
  • Choose your crayons or colored markers carefully. All colors do not work well with orange construction paper.
