How to Delete an MSN Message Board

As the manager of an MSN message board, you have the right to permanently delete the board at any time.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to your MSN message board and login to your MSN passport.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Manager Tools" found at the bottom of the left navigation bar.

  3. Step 3

    Click "Adjust Group Settings." You will be redirected to the "Group Settings" page.

  4. Step 4

    At the bottom of the "Group Settings" page, find the "Current Status" section.

  5. Step 5

    Click the "Delete Group" link. You will be prompted to confirm the delete. If you are certain that you wish to permanently delete you group, click "OK." Once the group has bee deleted, it cannot be undone.

Tips & Warnings
  • As a courtesy to your members, email your members announcing the date and time your board will become inactive. This will allow your members time to save any important graphics, photos or text that they wish to keep.
  • If you are no longer interested in maintaining your MSN message board but do not want to delete it, you the option of stepping down and promoting another member to the level of Manager.
  • Instead of deleting your group, you can give your message board "Private" status. The board will no longer be viewable to the public, but you and your members will still have access to the materials posted on your message board.
  • After your MSN message board is deleted, you will no longer have access to any of files posted on your site. Be certain this is acceptable to you before deleting your message board.
