If you've always wished you get be out there on the ice, skating fast, defending plays and beating people up with your hockey stick, fantasy hockey may be for you. Starting a fantasy hockey league is a good way to really feel like you're a part of the action of your favorite hockey team. So don't wait any longer, create your fantasy hockey team and get playing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Decide if you want your league to be for play or for pay.
Step2
Get eight to 12 of your friends together to create the teams for your new hockey fantasy league.
Step3
Find a website to host your fantasy league. Make sure it is one that will take care of the scoring for you or your commissioner may find himself spending an awful lot of time calculating scores by hand.
Step4
Determine how you will conduct your draft. There are two ways you can go about getting it done. First, you can have everyone come together, assign random drafting order and have them pick. Or, you could have everyone submit their list of players and assign them that way.
Step5
Set a roster that is simple and easy to use. Proicehockey.com has a sample roster that works for those just starting their own fantasy hockey leagues.
Step6
Choose a commissioner. This person will be responsible for enforcing the rules and settling any issues that come up during the year.
Step7
Hold a couple of re-drafts throughout the season. This gives everyone the chance to ditch the worst players on the team and ultimately makes the league more competitive.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't worry if people submit their draft lists and several teams have the same players. It just means that everyone will get to use that player and it shouldn't be a problem.
