Step 1
Dress in layers. Choose clothing that is easily layered and designed for runners.

Wear snug-fitting yet breathable clothing for the first layer. Purchase clothing made from "wicking" material to help keep you dry and avoid chilling from your sweat.

Wear breathable material for the second layer. Wear fleece sweatshirts and running pants. Choose items with plenty of zippers and vents for the most comfort in many different climates.

Wear an outer layer that is wind- and water-resistant. Gore-tex is a great choice for the outer layer giving some breathability and plenty of protection.

Wear a breathable hat on your head. Pick a hat that will pull down over your ears.

Wear gloves on your hands. Choose gloves designed for runners for the most comfort.

Wear running shoes that have thick tread. Avoid wearing shoes that are extremely worn as they will increase your chance of slipping.
