How to Trap a Bear

Bear trapping has a very long history dating back to the earliest days of mankind, when mankind donned animal fur to protect themselves from the elements. The tradition of trapping continues today. Read this article to learn more.

      Decide which bear you wish to trap, and learn about that bear's habitat. You may do this by going online to such sites as the Animal Diversity site of the University of Michigan.

      Choose how you wish to trap your bears, either with snares or metal traps. Both are available at some hunting and fishing stores or at such online store as the Snare Shop.

      Consider using a guide service when trapping bears. The Maine Sportsman Guide Service is one such service in one of the last states that allows bear trapping.
