Step 1
Plant a garden and share your harvest with others in exchange for their services or products.
-
Step 2
If you own livestock, trade your cow's or goat's milk for other foodstuffs.
-
Step 3
Help your landlord with maintenance in exchange for rent. Perhaps your apartment complex needs a new roof or the lawn mowed.
-
Step 4
Exchange old video games or books with a friend when you've both read or grown tired of them. Your friend's items will be new to you.
-
Step 5
Swap your skills or services such as carpentry, website design or sewing to others for their skills or services.
-
Step 6
Find others online who are willing to trade. Craigslist is a good place to start. You'll find information on items people want to trade, and you can list items you would like to trade.
-
Step 7
Exchange children's clothing, toys or baby paraphernalia. This is a great way to recycle items your children have outgrown.

on 10/2/2008 the above article is good. I usually post a bunch of ads to barter on craigslist and caretotrade.com. both sites are excellent resources for bartering and swapping services.
