How to Make Molasses Bran Muffins

Molasses bran muffins are full of fiber and nutrients. These muffins take about 30 to 45 minutes to prepare and bake.   • 1 egg
  • Whisk
  • 2 cups all-bran
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • Bowl
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup bran flakes
  • 1 small box raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Cooking spray or muffin cups
  • Muffin pan

      Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

      Beat the egg with a whisk.

      Mix the all-bran, molasses milk and egg in a bowl. Let soak for 15 minutes.

      Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl. Stir until combined.

      Grease muffin pans or place cups in the muffin pan.

      Spoon the molasses bran muffin mix evenly into each muffin cups. Each cup needs to be no more than 2/3 full. The batter rises while cooking.

      Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Stick a toothpick into the middle of the muffins to see if they are done. If the toothpick comes out clean, the muffins are done. If not, place the muffins back in the oven for 10 minutes. Check every 10 minutes the toothpick comes out clean. Use a new toothpick each time.

      Spread butter across the top of the warm muffins and serve.
