Step 1
Clean the sippy cup in the dishwasher. This is the first step of many on your cleaning journey. The first attempt may not work and if it does not, move on to step number two.
-
Step 2
Use a microwave plastic reusable or limited use bag sterilizer, the kind of machine that cleans baby bottles. They can be found at the grocery store or at a super center in the baby bottle area. They range in price from $20 to $40 and look like a chicken egg hatchery.
-
Step 3
Use a tooth brush to clean the small inner parts of the cup that collect the mold. You can use soap or toothpaste and scrub your little heart out. If this doesn't work, move on to the big guns.
-
Step 4
Use Polident For Partials. This is a silver dollar sized green drop that you put in warm water. Let the water sizzle up and then add the parts of the sippy cup that won't release the nasty mold. Follow the directions on the back of the package just as you would for partials. Wait five minutes. Rinse and clean the sippy cup and parts after the process.
-
Step 5
Enjoy a clean sippy cup, but if it isn't as clean as you would like it, you may need to just toss it out and get a new one.

on 5/3/2008 Thanks for the tips. Sippy cups amazingly have so many nooks and crannies, that sometimes the best option seems to be to throw it out! But next time, I will try your way.
