How to Join the National Organization for Women

The National Organization for Women is the largest women's organization in the United States. NOW is dedicated to promoting and making legal, social, political and economic changes in our society that eliminate sexism. There are several ways to join a local or national NOW chapter. Getting started is just a mouse click away.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Visit the official National Organization for Women website. There you can obtain information about the organization and purchase a membership.

  2. Step 2

    Click the "About" tab at the top right-hand side of the NOW's homepage. It directs you to basic information about the organization, their mission, how NOW is structured and a list of volunteer and internship opportunities.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the "Join/Donate" tab on the top left-hand side of any page on the NOW website. The site directs you to the membership page.

  4. Step 4

    Click the "Join NOW" button once you have arrived at the "Give to NOW" page.

  5. Step 5

    Input your name, address, email address, membership type and credit card number on the membership page.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Join NOW" button at the bottom of the page to process your application complete the process.

  7. Step 7

    Find a local NOW chapter if you want more information or if you want to speak with local members of the organization. Choose the "Chapters" tab at the top of any page on the NOW website. Enter your zip code and specify your distance parameters in the appropriate fields to get a list of chapters nearest you. You can also click on your state for a comprehensive listing of state-wide chapters.

Tips & Warnings
  • There is a nominal annual membership fee for joining NOW. While the suggested amount is set, NOW offers a sliding scale that allow membership to be affordable for anyone who wants to join.
