Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One bunch of spearmint leaves
  • 4 cups of water
  • Large saucepan
  • Medium saucepan
  • Colander
  • White or brown sugar, sugar substitute or honey
  • Sweet cream or milk
  1. Step 1

Pour 4 cups of water into a large saucepan.

  2. Step 2

Take the spearmint leaves and rinse them thoroughly with cold water. Place them in the saucepan of water.

  3. Step 3

Using low heat, warm the water and the spearmint leaves slowly. Make sure the water does not come to a boil. The longer you heat the water and spearmint leaves, the stronger the flavor of the tea will be.

  4. Step 4

Remove the saucepan of tea from the stove when you are satisfied with the flavor or aroma.

  5. Step 5

Place the medium saucepan in the kitchen sink. Put the colander over the pan and slowly pour the water and spearmint leaves into it. The colander will catch the leaves as the tea goes into the pan. Discard the leaves.

  6. Step 6

Allow the tea to cool slightly before serving. Pour into tea or coffee cups and add the flavorings of your choice (white or brown sugar, honey, sweet cream or milk). Stir well, close your eyes and take a soothing sip.
