Being part of a monthly dinner club is an easy way to socialize with friends and a fun way to try new restaurants. It is easy to cater a dinner club to the needs and desires of your social group. Follow these simple steps to get started.

Step1
Compile a list of 6 potential couples. Invite each couple to an informal planning meeting to discuss the rules.
Step2
Decide on a set day to meet each month and the maximum amount per entrée each person is willing to pay. Set a no children rule, nursing infants are optional. Designate two months for each couple to host, per year.
Step3
Assign a chair couple. Have the chair couple remind each host couple of their hosting months. The chair couple is also responsible for making a rotating schedule.
Step4
Assign host couples to choose a restaurant for their month. Have the hosts send out invitations two weeks prior to the date and email reminders a few days before. Host couples make reservations at the restaurant of choice.
Step5
Assign each couple to be responsible for their own babysitters. Have each couple RSVP a week in advance and inform hosts of last minute cancellations.
Step6
Take a survey of each persons likes and dislikes. Each person should be willing to try new restaurants.
Step7
Compile a list of contact information, the monthly schedule and rules for each couple. Meet every six months to discuss any issues and to reevaluate couple participation.

  • Send paper invitations two weeks in advance. Follow up with email reminders.
  • Meet after each dinner group at the host couple's house for dessert.
  • Choose people that all get along well together.
