How to Find Cold Spots
Cold spots are great indicators of paranormal activity. Most paranormal experts think cold spots are caused by spirits drawing the energy or the heat out of a room so they can manifest. If you're interested in ghost hunting, you may be wondering if there are ways to find cold spots.

1
Stay alert. Notice your own reactions to temperature changes. Sometimes ghost hunters become so focused on the equipment during a ghost hunt, the cameras and the tape recorders that they forget to notice their own physical reactions. If you feel chilly entering a room, perhaps you've found a true cold spot.

2
Talk to the ghosts. Dare the spirits to manifest themselves and ask them to show a sign of their presence. Because it takes energy for a ghost to manifest, and they take energy from the air, this is a great way to find a cold spot in a room where one didn't previously exist.

Take an actual temperature of the room. Use a rapid-reading electronic thermometer or an infrared thermal scanner to find cold spots or get a thermal imaging camera, if budget isn't a factor, to get actual pictures and video of cold spots. Some cameras will note temperature differences of one degree or less.

4
Seek a rational explanation. If a room feels cold, assume it's because the room is poorly sealed or there is a draft before you jump to a paranormal explanation. If you can't find a rational explanation for the cold spot, then you've probably had some sort of paranormal experience.

5
Don't stress if you genuinely feel cold, but your thermometers don't agree with you. What some people call cold spots are actually their emotional or psychic reactions to a paranormal experience or to being in the presence of a spirit.
