If you have lost weight through the right diet and exercise plan, you need to shrink your wardrobe to fit your new size. This will continue every few months until you stop because you have made your goal. Otherwise, you will have loose, ill fitting clothing that looks pretty bad on you. Shrinking the sizes in your wardrobe is expensive, but you need to look right in your clothing for work and social events. It sounds like quite an undertaking, but it really is pretty easy.

      Take stock of what you have in your closet that really still fits well. You probably have varied sizes in your wardrobe if you have been playing the game of gaining and losing for very long. Get rid of those pieces that are too big to wear any more.

      Look in your favorite clothing store for a few key outfits that fit your work and/or casual lifestyle. For work, coordinating pants and skirts with a blue blazer is a good idea. Choose two pair of pants, or add a skirt as one item, in colors of tan and blue. Pick up a couple of tops that go well with the pants or skirt.

      Select another outfit that that is totally different-say a business casual outfit of black corduroy pants with a coordinating multi-colored top. This and the clothing outlined in Steps One and Two will give you several good fitting outfits for work. You have just shrunk the size of your wardrobe.

      Buy a couple pair of jeans and add some casual tops to them for a couple of outfits to wear on the weekends or for casual outings. With any luck, you have some already in your closet already to add to your casual lineup.

      Try eBay sales to see if your style and sizes are available. If you are on a budget, you probably are wondering if you can get more in your wardrobe. Pick up some really good deals at this auction site.

      Shop at consignment shops to see what you can find. Many people have chosen to sell their nicer clothing through consignment. This is a great opportunity for you to get a great wardrobe after you have gotten smaller. This is truly how to shrink your wardrobe.

      Drive around and look over the garage sales you pass. You could see the best outfit ever at a very low price. After all of these steps, you probably have numerous articles of clothing that go together to make a really nice fashion statement. You have worked hard to shrink your wardrobe. Now, sit back and relax. You may have four or five months before you have to do it all again.
