      Take off your thermostat cover by gently pulling on it. Remove the front assembly and check to make sure the wall plate is level.

      Loosen the mounting screws on the wall plate, if it is not level, and level it. Then reattach the front assembly and clean the parts with a small soft brush.

      Clean all the switch contacts with a soft brush to make sure it is operating effectively and cleanly.

      Adjust your thermometer reading to match your accurate room thermometer by using a small screwdriver. The thermometer is usually a bi-metal coil in the thermostat cover.
