Step 1
Wash all baby items with Dreft before she uses them. This ensures that all items are clean and sanitized before your baby is exposed to them. Items washed should include clothes, bedding, bibs and cloth diapers.
-
Step 2
Measure the amount of Dreft used with the cap. Fill to the line that is meant to wash the size load you are placing in the washing machine.
-
Step 3
Soak stained items in Dreft and water. Hard to remove food stains should be pre-treated with Dreft. Leave the clothing in the solution for half an hour before placing in a normal wash cycle.
-
Step 4
Use Dreft to wash any hand-me-down clothing. If you receive clothing from an outside source, use Dreft to clean the garments before the baby wears them.
-
Step 5
Skip the fabric softener. Dreft has ingredients that soften the fabrics, so there is no need to add fabric softener. Fabric softeners reduce the flame resistance of garments.

on 4/27/2008 Or make your own laundry soap. Most recipes use Borax, washing (not BAKING) soda and a bar of soap. No fragrances, no enzymes, no dyes, no harsh chemicals to irritate baby's skin. And by the way, it costs about $0.70 to make 2 gallons. Quite a bit better than Dreft!!
I never used a special baby soap, because I figured baby was snuggling up to my clothes, laying on my bedsheets, etc. It just didn't make sense to me. Why not choose an eco-friendly, skin-friendly detergent and wash EVERYONE'S clothes in it all the time so you can all reap the benefits?!
