How to Visit the Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is a large zoo that houses more than 4,000 animals in the heart of Bronx, New York. The Bronx Zoo is part of the Wildlife Conservation Society, an organization dedicated to the study and safe keeping of animals. A visit to the Bronx Zoo can be a fun time for the entire family. Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go anytime of year. The Bronx Zoo is open year-round. However, the ideal time to go is during the spring and summer months when all exhibits are open.

  2. Step 2

    Pay for parking. You will have to pay to park in the Bronx Zoo's parking lot. Cars cost $10 while buses must pay $16.

  3. Step 3

    Choose a combination package. Add on a monorail ride, visit to the butterfly garden or ride on the Zucker Bug Carousel. Each special attraction can be added on to your admission ticket for an additional price.

  4. Step 4

    Take a zoo map along with you. The Bronx Zoo is very large and a map helps you find all the animals that you are looking forward to visiting.

  5. Step 5

    Visit the Congo Gorilla Forest. This exhibit is made up of over six acres of rainforest and features gorillas, hogs and okapi.

  6. Step 6

    Eat lunch at the Dancing Crane Cafe. This eatery is open year-round. Asia Plaza, African Market and Terrace Cafe are seasonal options for lunch choices.
