Ready for some football partying?

If you are going to your favorite team's football game, you may want to spend the time prior to the game tailgating. A tailgate party can be a fun time and get everyone psyched for the game. With some planning, you can have a tailgating experience that proves to be more enjoyable than the actual game. Read on to learn how to tailgate at a football game.

From Quick Guide: Tailgating
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Arrive early. Most people begin to tailgate at least three hours before the start of the game. Find out when the stadium permits vehicles to enter in order to plan your arrival time.

  2. Step 2

Find the area in the parking lot that is designated for tailgating. Many stadiums set aside certain areas for tailgating activities. Ask a parking attendant upon arrival about how to find these locations.

  3. Step 3

Dress in your team's gear. Wear a T-shirt or team jersey. You can also set up your area to reflect your team spirit. Wave a team flag or hang up some team pennants.

  4. Step 4

Bring along a portable grill. The easiest foods to prepare while tailgating are burgers and hot dogs. If you are feeling ambitious, bring along some steaks.

  5. Step 5

Stock up on beer. It wouldn't be a tailgating party without an ample supply of beer to enjoy before the game.

  6. Step 6

Clean up the tailgating area. You should bring along trash bags to throw away everything prior to the start of the game.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't forget to bring disposable plastic ware and plates. This makes cleanup easier.
  • Don't violate any of the stadium rules about tailgating. You don't want to get thrown out before the football game.
