  1. Make an Award Certificate

      Open Microsoft Publisher and click "Publications for Print" located in the "New Publication" pane. This is set to automatically open. Or click "File" then "New" to access the publication designs.

      Choose "Award Certificates" from the "New Publication" side column. The large window displays the templates for your program. Note the two categories: Plain Paper and Special Paper.

      Pick a template that fits your needs and click the picture above its title.

      Click "Color Schemes" in the side pane and choose your color. The certificate immediately reflects your choice.

      Move your mouse and click "Font Schemes" in the side panel to locate the font of your choice.

      Highlight with your mouse each line in the certificate. Click the box to add the particular information needed. You can also change the placeholder default text by highlighting it and then typing the words you want.

      Save and print your certificate.

    Make a Gift Certificate

      Open your Microsoft Publisher program and click "Publications for Print" in the task pane. Or click "File" then "New" to access the publication designs.

      Select "Gift Certificates" and click.

      Keep the color scheme or change to another from the "Color Schemes" side pane. Point and click your choice.

Tips & Warnings

  • To add a different photo or art clip to a certificate, right click on the default picture. A dialog box opens. Move your mouse over "Change Picture." Choose the file location and type of picture you want on your certificate.

  • Add your name, address, phone number and company logo in the dialog box that opens when you choose a certificate. This information is saved for future use. Click "Cancel" if it doesn't apply.
