Throwing a baby shower may seem easy enough, but throwing one that guests will enjoy can be a little challenging. Often, women go to a baby shower looking forward to seeing the mother-to-be but dreading playing embarrassing games. So entertain your guests with activities they will not only like, but they will want to copy at their next shower.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Entertain guests by making a "This is Your Life" style video ahead of time and show it during the baby shower. Interview friends and family of the expectant parents and ask them who they think the baby will be like or what the parents were like as babies.
Step2
Start with an ice breaker as there are bound to be people who don't know each other. Have guests take turns making three statements about themselves. Two are true and one is a lie. Then have everyone else guess which one is the lie.
Step3
Buy a small blank book or journal. Ask each shower guest to write some words of wisdom for the mother-to-be. Write your advice on the first page so they get the idea. Instead of advice, you could also have them each write a wish for the baby.
Step4
For those guests who are artistically inclined, set up a craft project to complete at the party and give to the guest of honor as a shower gift. Buy a felt board and some felt and have guests trace shapes, cut them out and glue them on the board. Make it a theme that matches the decor of the nursery or a popular children's book.
Step5
Before the shower, freeze diaper pins, miniature pacifiers or tiny plastic babies in ice cube trays. Give each guest an ice cube in a glass of water and the first person whose ice has melted allowing the frozen item to float freely in their glass yells "My water broke" and wins a prize.
Step6
Play a memory game. Have the first player start by saying something you normally find in a diaper bag. The next player says that item plus one of their own. Then each person says what was said before, in the proper order, and adds their own item. If you mess up, you are out and the last person still in the game is the winner.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't have the room at your home for a shower, consider something off site like a do-it-yourself pottery shop.
