Step 1
Go online to the CBEST website. It has all the details about practice tests, test dates, fees and locations.
-
Step 2
Familiarize yourself with the format. You need to pass three parts: math, reading and writing.
-
Step 3
Look at the practice tests and answer the questions. Note any areas of difficulty.
-
Step 4
Check out a CBEST preparation guide from the library. You can purchase one as well. There are several different guides, but any should be helpful.
-
Step 5
Study the CBEST preparation guide and answer the practice questions. Based on your performance, decide when to take the test.
-
Step 6
Return to the CBEST website and look at the test dates available. Determine which one is best for you, and register to take the test.
-
Step 7
Read the rules and details about what to bring with you the day of the exam. Plan to arrive early to the test site.
-
Step 8
Find your unofficial score on the CBEST website about two weeks after you take the test. Exam officials mail results about three weeks after your test date.
