Garbage Pail Kids were all the rage in the mid-1980s. They were a counter culture item to the Cabbage Patch Kids that were the doll of the day. Playing off of their popularity, cards were printed that told the story of the kids from the other side of the tracks. These were the Garbage Pail Kids. Here is how to collect their cards.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Search online auction websites. The best site for this is eBay. Since the cards are no longer in production, you have to rely on collectors to collect your own selection of Garbage Pail Kids. Bid on auctions to acquire your cards.
Step2
Check out online sites dedicated to the Garbage Pail Kids. Garbage Pail Kids and Garbage Pail Kids World are great sites where you can interact with collectors who share the same passion that you do regarding these cards.
Step3
Visit comic collector shows. Garbage Pail Kids were most popular in card form--although they actually released a movie too. Check out comic shows through your local paper or Craigslist. There you will get to scour people's comic card collections and search for Garbage Pail Kids.
Step4
Place an ad for Garbage Pail Kids. Rather than hunting, let the cards and memorabilia come to you. Place an ad on virtual services like Craigslist or other local sites expressing the fact that you are looking for Garbage Pail Kids. You never know who is cleaning out their attic and decides to hands you a goldmine.
