Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut the fabric into two nearly identical pieces that can be sewn into a 9-by-22 inch pillow.

  2. Step 2

Sew the two pieces of fabric together to form a pillow. Leave one end upon for the corn. Fill the case three quarters full of corn, then sew the remaining opening closed. This is best done by hand.

  3. Step 3

Heat the bag at least three times for three minutes or longer, with plenty of time to cool between each session, to remove the excess moisture and kill any pests that may have made a home in the corn.

  4. Step 4

Use the bags as a therapeutic measure to treat common aches and pains. Heat the bag for no more than two minutes in the microwave for heat therapy. Keep another bag in the freezer for cold therapy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use thicker fabric to lessen the risk of burning when the pillow is heated.
  • For an added layer of skin protection, make a decorative pillowcase to go along with the pillow. The pillowcase can be washed and should be removed when placing the bag in the microwave or freezer.
