Marilyn Monroe was one of the most glamorous women to ever grace the silver screen. She was a beautiful, talented singer and actress who still garners a large following. If you can transform yourself into a convincing Marilyn Monroe impersonator, then maybe you can become half as famous as the blonde bombshell, herself.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Blonde hair or a blonde wig
  • White dress

Step1
Dye your hair blonde or buy a blond wig. Marilyn Monroe is quite possibly the most well-known blonde in show business. Your dye job or wig must be platinum blonde, practically white.
Step2
Draw a small black mole just above the left corner of your mouth.
Step3
Buy a white dress, similar to the one that Marilyn famously wore in "The Seven Year Itch." That dress has become iconic and will help raise your recognizability. The dress that you buy should be white satin with a halter neckline and full skirt. Several replica versions of that and other familiar Marilyn dresses can be found at most costume stores.
Step4
Study footage of Marilyn Monroe so that you can get her mannerisms and stage presence just right. Try emulating Marilyn's characters from her most famous movies, such as "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "Some Like it Hot."
Step5
Practice Marilyn Monroe's signature breathy voice. In order to be a convincing Marilyn impersonator, you must get the voice right.
Step6
Learn some songs Marilyn Monroe was famous for singing, such as "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" or the version of "Happy Birthday" that she sang for President John F. Kennedy.
Step7
Familiarize yourself with Marilyn Monroe's history. Do you know her birth name? What about the names of all of her famous husbands?
Step8
Create a name for your act.
Step9
List your act on a website such as Gig Salad or Gig Masters to start booking gigs for yourself.

Tips & Warnings

  • Memorize some famous Marilyn Monroe quotes.
  • Invest in a lot of fancy dresses and jewelry. If you can't afford real diamonds, buy believable fake ones.
