Step 1
Talk to your family and friends and other people you trust who have filed for bankruptcy. See if they had a positive experience with their bankruptcy attorney and if they feel comfortable referring him to you.
-
Step 2
Contact your state Bar Association and tell them that you are looking to hire a bankruptcy lawyer. State Bar Associations usually operate a free referral system. Ask for the names of lawyers certified by the American Bankruptcy Institute or any state bankruptcy organizations. Make sure the bankruptcy lawyers whose names you are given have not been the subject of any ethical complaints.
-
Step 3
Ask your present attorney for a referral. Attorneys are familiar with the skills and experience of their colleagues and are a good source for information on which bankruptcy lawyers are considered the best in their field.
-
Step 4
Call the lawyers whose names you were given and arrange a meeting. Be sure to find out whether you will have to pay for the initial consultation. Inquire as to their bankruptcy experience, successes and certifications. See if they will put you in contact with previous clients you could talk to for more information.
-
Step 5
Go with your gut. Filing for bankruptcy is hard enough without having to undergo the process with someone who makes you uncomfortable. The bankruptcy lawyer you hire should listen to you carefully, answer any questions, be compassionate and put you at ease.

on 9/14/2008 The main thing is to hire any experienced lawyers, and not only this there should also be popular in bankruptcy case, however, if any lower is not experienced they just entered the field they are also good depending on their qualification because until you give them any opportunity then how can you know their quality, yes it is true that I am saying both aspects negative and positive both should be applied depending on the matter if the matter is serious then consider hiring any experienced lawyers.
