A sweet Tweety Bird costume is easily made in an afternoon using simple supplies available at any craft store. This costume is suitable for the youngest to the oldest trick-or-treater. It's functional, as well as warm enough for a chilly Halloween evening.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yellow hooded sweatshirt
  • Yellow sweatpants
  • Orange tights
  • Yellow decorative feathers
  • Hot glue and hot glue gun
  • Scrap elastic
  • Orange felt
  1. Step 1

Purchase a yellow hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. Select the appropriate size for your child (or other trick-or-treater). The top could either be a pullover hooded version or a zip-up version.

  2. Step 2

Glue feathers to the costume. Using the hot glue gun, glue yellow feathers randomly across the sweatshirt, on the hood and on the pants. This may need to be done in intervals, allowing different portions of the garment to dry. The feathers should be glued using their tips and not the part with the feather on it.

  3. Step 3

Use tights for the legs. Wear orange tights underneath the sweatpants. The sweatpants legs should be pushed up to the knees.

  4. Step 4

Stuff the costume. Stuff the sweatshirt with wadded up newspaper or pillow stuffing to give an illusion of fullness, like Tweety Bird.

  5. Step 5

Make the bill for Tweety Bird. Attach a three to four inch triangle of orange felt to a piece of elastic fitted to go over the head and around the face.
