On a tight budget? You can save a few bucks by creating your own business cards. All you need is a bit of imagination, a color printer and a computer. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Graphics or publishing software
  • Scanner
  • High quality paper
  • Color printer
  1. Step 1

Use a decent graphics creation/publishing program such as Corel. You can also use a program dedicated to the creation of business cards or greeting cards. You can also create cards by creating labels in Microsoft Word.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you list your name, address, telephone and fax numbers and other pertinent information as well as your business slogan or information about your business.

  3. Step 3

Avoid complicated graphics. You want something that will print clearly.

  4. Step 4

Use a scanner to scan in photos or artwork for your card. Clip art tends to look cheap and unprofessional.

  5. Step 5

Select one or two colors and print them on a white or off-white background. Simplicity is the key here.

  6. Step 6

Use high quality paper such as linen or fiber stone. Make sure the paper you choose is compatible with your printer.
