If you have friends, beer and a deck of cards, you've got the main ingredients for a fun night of drinking games. There are so many different kinds of drinking games that you will have plenty to choose from.

From Quick Guide: Play Drinking Games
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Beer or choice of alcoholic beverage
  • Friends
  • Deck of cards
  • Ping-pong balls
  • Cups
  • Quarters

    Preparation

  1. Step 1

Buy some beer or your alcohol of choice.

  2. Step 2

    Invite some friends over.

  3. Step 3

    Put on some party music.

  4. Step 4

Decide what kind of drinking game you want to play. You can play card games, like Kings or Hi-Lo. Games such as Beer Pong or Moose require props like quarters or ping-pong balls. Or you can play games that just require alcohol, like I Never.

  5. Kings

  6. Step 1

Spread a deck of cards in a circle around an empty cup.

  7. Step 2

Take turns drawing cards. If you draw a red card, numbered two through eight, the other players must take as many drinks as the number you drew. If you draw a black card with one of those numbers, you must take a drink that many times.

  8. Step 3

Choose a word when you draw a nine. Everyone must take turns coming up with a word that rhymes with your chosen word. The first person who cannot come up with a word must drink.

  9. Step 4

Create a category, such as "types of beer," when you draw a ten. Everyone must take turns naming a type of beer. If someone repeats a name or cannot think of another name, they must drink.

  10. Step 5

Make up a rule if you draw a jack. Everyone must obey that rule until the next Jack is drawn.

  11. Step 6

Begin a question round if you draw a queen. This means that everyone must speak in the form of a question. The first person who doesn't must drink.

  12. Step 7

Start a "waterfall" if you draw an ace. A waterfall is when everyone starts drinking at the same time. Then, the person who drew the Ace stops drinking first, then the person next to them, and so on until only one person is left drinking.

  13. Step 8

Pour some of your drink in the center cup if you draw a king. Whoever draws the last king has to drink the contents of the center cup.

  14. Hi-Lo

  15. Step 1

Place a deck of cards face down.

  16. Step 2

Draw one card. The next person guesses if the next card will be higher or lower than the first, then draws the card. If they are wrong, they must take a drink.

  17. Step 3

Play until there are no cards left.

  18. Beer Pong

  19. Step 1

Set up ten cups in a pyramid shape at both ends of a table.

  20. Step 2

Pour a small amount of beer into each of the cups.

  21. Step 3

Take turns trying to throw two ping pong balls into the other person's cups. The ball cannot bounce on the table before going into the cup. If both balls make it, you get to go again.

  22. Step 4

Drink the cup of beer if a ball goes in, then remove it from the table.

  23. Step 5

Continue until all the cups on one side are gone. The losing team drinks the winning team's leftover cups of beer.

  24. Moose

  25. Step 1

Pour beer into a small bowl and place it in the middle of a table.

  26. Step 2

Take turns trying to bounce a quarter into the bowl.

  27. Step 3

Pay attention, because if the quarter goes in, you'll need to put your hands by your ears like moose antlers and yell, "Moose!" The last person to do this has to drink the bowl of beer.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the quarter looks like it's going to land in the bowl of beer, but does not go in and someone accidentally shouts "Moose!" they have to drink the beer.
  • Never drive after you've been drinking. Grab a blanket and a spot on a friend's couch and crash for the night.
