Starting a DVD collection can be a fun hobby and you can make your collection as big as you want. Everyone has a hobby of some sort whether it is bird watching or collecting stamps. Hobbies give us a chance to enjoy something for ourselves outside of work and they give us a chance to relax and unwind because there is no pressure. This is how you can get your DVD collection started.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by sourcing DVDs. Your local movie store will have access to new movies and also sell many previously viewed DVDs. Start with choosing some of your favorite oldies and some new releases that interest you.

  2. Step 2

Gather as many genres as you can, whether it is western, romance, war or comedy. You can enjoy a variety of different genres and fill your DVD collection with many choices for your friends and family to use as well.

  3. Step 3

Choose how you want to set up your DVD collection. A movie collection can be put in alphabetical order or date order. They can be put into categories such as Romance, Comedy or Western or New Releases and "previously viewed."

  4. Step 4

Find an area to keep your DVD collection. If you are going to have a huge collection you might want to have a certain area of the house put aside just for your collection. A study or basement area is good for this type of collection, but if it is smaller, you might be able to keep it close to your main DVD player.

  5. Step 5

Keep looking for DVD deals when you are out and about. There are even DVDs sold in consignment stores and thrift stores. You can find many in movie stores like Blockbuster, other main video stores or in local supermarkets.
