Raising healthy children can be quite a task if you haven't led a healthy path yourself. There are still ways you can start fresh with your children and have a healthy family. A healthy child will usually grow into a healthy adult if they use all the tools they learned while they were young. Here are some tips on how to raise a healthy child.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Feed your child all the necessary food groups and get them interested in fruits and vegetables if possible. Encourage them to drink milk for healthy bones and teeth. Vegetables will keep them energized and proteins can be found not only in meats, but also in eggs and nuts. Teach them to eat three healthy meals a day.

  2. Step 2

Get your children into activities and exercise. As long as they are kept busy, they will be able to keep lean and have a healthy heart. They can join a variety of activities such as a swim team or get involved in bowling, art, and pottery. Usually your local community center will have something to keep kids occupied.

  3. Step 3

Teach them how to turn negatives into positives. When they make a mistake or have an accident, tell them that this is natural and that they are supposed to learn from mistakes as they go through life. The sooner a child knows this, the less they will criticize themselves.

  4. Step 4

Allow them to make lots of friends. A social child will be happier and it is good for them to have a variety of friends to turn to. These friends might end up being a friend when they are older and someone they can trust.

  5. Step 5

Tell your child they are beautiful, intelligent and always lovable. Many children grow into puberty and then start criticizing their skills and bodies because of popularity status at school. By making it secure and loving at home, you might be able to prevent your child from low self-confidence in the future.

Tips & Warnings
