While many people have sexual problems, few are willing to admit it and even fewer are willing to seek help to resolve them. However, if you are prepared to jump the hurdle of embarassment and get real about your problems, the next step is to find a qualified sex therapist. What follows are some tips on how to do so.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Face up to your sexual problem(s) before finding a sex therapist. You need to closely examine the area(s) of most concern and be prepared to express your thoughts to your partner and your therapist.
Step2
Go online to find out the options for sex therapy in your area. There are many people who call themselves sex therapists, but not all of them are specifically qualified to provide you with the services you are seeking. Make sure you research your potential therapists before making an appointment.
Step3
Ask questions. When you phone the potential therapist's office, do not hesitate to inquire what qualifications they have in sex therapy. Ask if they are licensed therapists and where they received their training.
Step4
Be open, candid and sincere. There is little point in seeking help for your sexual problems if you are unwilling to be entirely frank with the sex therapist.
Step5
Follow through on your therapeutic work outside of the confines of the therapist's office. The most important work you do in sex therapy is the work done in the field, so to speak, with your partner.
