Coffee pots are relatively easy to clean, that is until you leave the burner on with only remnants of your much-loved morning drink in the pot. Once stains set in, there's a little trouble in removing the burnt traces of the delightful brew. The good news is, cleaning these stains is much easier than you might think and quite natural as well. Keep reading to find all natural ways to remove the stains from a coffee pot.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Coffee pot
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 lemons (cut into wedges)
  1. Step 1

Allow the coffee pot to cool completely before attempting to clean the stains.

  2. Step 2

Combine the salt, ice cubes and lemon wedges inside the coffee pot.

  3. Step 3

Swirl all ingredients around inside the pot vigorously for about 30 seconds in a clockwise motion, and then reverse directions. The salt acts as a scouring agent to clean and remove the stains.

  4. Step 4

Rinse with cool water until all the salt has been removed. If stains persist repeat the cleaning process until all stains are gone.

  5. Step 5

Once clean, allow the coffee pot to come back to room temperature before brewing again. Not only will this process have things shiny and new, but the coffee will also taste much better.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clean the coffee maker naturally by making a half and half mixture of water and vinegar, and pouring it into the water reservoir. Place a clean filter in the basket and brew a full cycle.
  • Clean the coffee pot once a month or more, as needed, for best results and improved coffee flavor.
  • Failing to cool the pot adequately before adding ice can result in the glass shattering.
