Corporate parties can be a great way to celebrate Christmas at the end of a year. Staff and their family members, if included, look forward to the food, the music and the entertainment. Good planning is the key to a great party, so start your planning early.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Music
  • Disc Jockey
  • Computer
  • Internet Access
  • Party Planner
  • Door Prizes
  • Band
  • Food
  1. Step 1

Check your budget. Find out if you're picking up tab or if the company is paying. Then find out the prices for various types of entertainment. Surprises are fun, but not when it comes to your finances.

  2. Step 2

Make sure your entertainment is tasteful for all the people attending. Consider the gender-appropriateness of your choices. Check with people of different cultures. What might entertain one group might offend another.

  3. Step 3

Pick music that suits people of all ages, or at least music that suits the majority of people. Choose a disk jockey. DJs usually have a variety of music and can play compact disks to suit your needs.

  4. Step 4

Choose a theme. Picking a theme makes choosing entertainment easier. Have a medieval Christmas party with a banquet feast, jesters and medieval music. Go online to find more information on party themes. See additional resource section below.

  5. Step 5

Hire a party planner to help with the entertainment, or hire someone to help with the entertainment aspect only. This allows you to take care of the food and music yourself.

  6. Step 6

Give away door prizes during speeches. Provide a couple of large prizes or several small prizes. Give-a-ways make the speeches more entertaining and give your guests something to look forward to while they are listening.

  7. Step 7

Hire a live band. Check the preference of the majority of your guests. Select jazz musicians, rock musicians, country musicians and more. You can hire a band with a singer or hire singers on their own.

Tips & Warnings
  • Book your entertainment well in advance of your party, especially at Christmas.
  • Ask for references before you hire an entertainer.
  • Make sure the entertainment suits the theme. If it's fancy and formal, you probably don't want a magician or mud wrestler.
