How to Tube Texas' Guadalupe River
If floating down the river on a hot day in an inner tube appeals to you, then Texas' Guadalupe River is the place to be. Sparkling clear waters meander through the limestone bluffs and towering trees of Texas' beautiful hill country. There are plenty of outfitters, restaurants, bars and places to stay along the river, so do a little advance planning and enjoy.
Instructions

-
1
Visit the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce website or the official Guadalupe River website for river and outfitter information. There are many outfitters and some have their own web sites with pricing of equipment listed.
-
2
Read and familiarize yourself with the river rules and ordinances listed on this website. These regulations are strictly enforced and incur fines if not followed.
-
-
3
Call an outfitter of your choice to see if reservations are needed for the equipment. They offer inner tubes and life vests. They have coolers if you don't have one. You have to get an additional tube for the cooler. They provide rope to attach the inner tubes together and mesh garbage bags to haul out trash. Concessions are available along the way if you prefer. One return shuttle ride per person is usually included with the tube rental. For an extra fee you can buy an all-day pass.
-
4
Take a credit card for the deposit. The outfitter will usually hold your car keys for safekeeping. Leave all other valuables at home.
-
5
Pick up your equipment at the outfitters and begin your trip. Tube Texas' Guadalupe River, get picked up by the shuttle, and if you desire, start all over again.

Tips & Warnings
River shoes are recommended and sunscreen is a must. Wear a hat and sunglasses. The hot sun on the water can be deceiving and sunburn can occur in a very short time.

We tube the Guadalupe River at least 7 times every summer and we've tried most of the Outfitters in Canyon Lake... the two that stand out the most are River Sports Tubes and the Tube Haus, because of their friendly service and fun attitudes... just add a dot com after their names to find their Websites. Cheers! -
