Care packages are often sent to people who are living far away or are going through something extraordinary in their lives that requires our support. Many people are even sending these to troops stationed overseas; people they've never met. If you're ready to show someone you care, follow the steps below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Think about the person you're sending it to. If you have a personal relationship with them, take into consideration any major events they may be going through, as well as their hobbies and interests. If your package is meant for troops overseas whom you've never met, look for websites devoted to supporting the military as they often include lists of items that our troops need.
Step2
Pack the essentials. Sending a care package doesn't have to be a large scale project. A few thoughtful items, chosen especially for them, will be enough to bolster the person's spirits.
Step3
Use zipper sandwich bags. These are great for grouping obviously similar items such as toiletries and food items. They also help to prevent leakages and spills from damaging the rest of the contents. As an added bonus, the person can reuse the zipper bags for other storage needs they may have.
Step4
Include a note. There is no better way to finish off a care package then by including a message of encouragement. You can be creative by sending inspirational poems, quotes, and funny stories. Think of something uplifting you can share and keep your message positive.
Step5
Time it right. This is especially important if you know the person will be going through difficult times. Holidays are a perfect time to send a care package, especially if you know someone who is away from their loved ones. Be prepared to send it early to ensure that it gets to them in time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid sending food items that have cream fillings or chocolate in them as these have a higher tendency to go bad.
