How to Create a Ball Pit
You no longer need to go to a special place to enjoy a ball pit; creating a ball pit at home is simple. With your own ball pit you can control how clean your child's play area is, unlike public ball pits that may be teeming with germs. The size and materials used may vary depending on where you purchase them.
Things You'll Need
- Inflatable pool
- Air pump (optional)
- 200 or more plastic balls size 6.5cm diameter or larger

1
Inflate an inflatable pool to contain the balls while in play. Keep in mind, the larger the pool the more balls you will need to fill it.
-
2
Place the pool in the location where it is to be played with. It will be difficult to relocate the pool once it has been filled with balls.

3
Fill the pool with plastic balls. The bottom of the pool should be completely covered and several balls create a second layer. For deeper pools add extra balls.

Tips & Warnings
An air pump is extremely helpful when filling inflatable toys.
Inflatable pools are available in a variety of locations including toy stores and super stores such as Target or Wal-Mart.
If you have a portable crib that you are not currently using, you could also fill it with plastic balls instead of using an inflatable pool.
Always supervise children while they are playing in a ball pit.
