How to How Make an Ice Fishing House Comfortable

Ice fishing houses are not common in some areas and they are also not known for luxury in the areas where they are common. This doesn't mean that your ice house can't be comfortable. You should enjoy the comforts of home and invite your ice fishing buddies.

Instructions

1. Install a power source. You need to have a small generator or a solar power kit. If you are using a solar power kit, install the panels onto the roof of the ice fishing house. You need to run wires connecting the outlets to the power source.

2. Plank the walls. Using thin planks of oak paneling, you need to line all the walls. Then sand the planks with 120 grit sandpaper followed by sandpapers with less grit. You need to clean the dust out and then finish the oak with polyurethane.

3. Bring in entertainment. Mount a plasma TV screen on either side of your ice fishing hole. Then connect the media like a DVD player, portable satellite dish or game station that you want to have available. This allows you to watch two different movies, play a game while your friends watch a movie or watch two different TV shows.

4. Add comfortable furniture. You should select furniture that is small in size. If you will be staying in your ice fishing house for a while, you may want to bring a bunk bed.

5. Set up a source of heat. You can keep toasty in your ice house by bringing an electric heater or set up a portable fire pit.

• You can plug some things directly into a generator.

• You can build or buy a permanent ice fishing house that can be transported onto the ice with a trailer.

• Ice must be extremely thick to support an ice fishing house and generator.
