The Fat Smash Diet was created by Dr. Ian K. Smith for dieters to use over the long term. The diet is high in nutrients and is not as restrictive as other popular diets. The diet is separated into four phases and is meant to be followed over a 90 day period.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Detox your body. This is the first phase of the diet. For 9 days you should stop eating unhealthy foods and consume mostly fruits and vegetables. You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want with the exception of avocados and white potatoes.

  2. Step 2

Follow the second phase of the Fat Smash Diet for 3 weeks. This phase consists of allowing lean meats back into your diet. You can also add a limited amount of diet soda and cheese.

  3. Step 3

Add whole wheat breads and pastas. During the third phase, you add in whole grains, more sources of protein and juice. This phase lasts for 4 weeks.

  4. Step 4

Continue on the Fat Smash Diet for life. Phase four is meant to be followed for as long as possible. You eat the foods permitted in the first three phases as well as adding a limited amount of white starches and sweets.

  5. Step 5

Go back to phase one for a week if you have a slip up on the diet. Mistakes are allowed and expected on the Fat Smash Diet. The diet recommends following the phase one diet for a week and then returning to your current phase to get back on track.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol while following the Fat Smash Diet.
  • Don't skip meals on the Fat Smash Diet. This will increase your chances of binging from hunger later on.
