How to Defrost a Windshield

On cold days in the winter months, you often find that frost has formed on your car's windshield. It is a normal occurrence and it only take a few minutes to remove the frost. In the winter, give yourself enough time to defrost your windshield before your daily commute.

Instructions

1. Start your car. The car needs to be running before you can begin defrosting the windshield.

2. Turn on the defrost option in your vehicle. It should be set to the highest heat on a low speed. Higher speeds actually fan out colder air than a lower setting.

3. Wait a few minutes while the defroster melts the ice on your windshield. Once it is melted, you can wipe away the water with your windshield wipers.

5. Scrape away the frost. If you are in a hurry, you can choose to start the car with the defrost mode running and use an ice scraper to get rid of the frost.
