For busy people today getting a date can be tougher than ever. Often people are so busy they live through their cell phones. Well as cell phones have become more Internet capable, mobile dating has become increasingly popular. Getting a date using the cell phone offers a great alternative to the typical dating scene, especially for the active professional.

  • Internet-enabled cell phone
  1. Step 1

    Decide which type of dating website is best. One type of dating site is a traditional matchmaker site that has been around for a while and offers mobile dating as an add-on to their regular services. The other type is the website that specialize in mobile dating only. Both have their advantage and disadvantages, it is up to the particular users tastes and needs.

  2. Step 2

    Sign-up for an online dating service. There are many popular dating websites out there today and most have a free trial period for evaluation purposes. finding the one that is right may take some trail and error. Be sure to read the sites privacy policy.

  3. Step 3

    Enroll in the dating sites mobile dating service. The mobile dating service enables text message to come to the users cell phone and can give a wide variety of search criteria for other users on the network. (see resources)

  4. Step 4

    Browse the picture and profiles of people on the dating site. Once an acceptable profile is found select that profile. Depending on the dating site options it will list location, username and limit the options of the search to users that are in close proximity.

  5. Step 5

    Send the user a text or instant message. Once the text is sent just wait for a reply. If the reply is sent and is positive then complete the details of the date.

Tips & Warnings
  • If going on the date alone have a friend call during the date. This provides an ideal escape excuse for a bad date and also provides extra security on the date.
  • Be extremely cautious with any personal information.
  • When going on a anonymous Internet date either bring a friend along or at the very least make your plans know to friends and family.
