With its white beaches, tropical climate and beautiful harbors, the Bahamas is a relaxing place to visit by boat. Whether you take your own boat or want to rent a boat, here are a few factors to consider when you are looking for the best marina in the Bahamas.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Decide where you are going in the Bahamas. There are 700 islands in the Bahamas and 14 islands that are the main hubs. Once you know which islands you want to visit, research the marinas in the specific area.
Step2
Know your criteria. Some marinas will offer a full service station with fuel, electricity and water. Other marinas only offer slips. You need to know the size of your boat and if the marina can accommodate it. If you want to explore the area by boat but don't own one you need to find a marina that has boat rentals or that provides charter services.
Step3
Research marinas. You can see what marinas are in specific areas of the Bahamas online at websites like Marina Mate. If possible, talk with someone who has recently visited the Bahamas by boat. A travel agent can usually provide you with information on marinas that are more popular.
Step4
Contact the marinas that interest you. Call or e-mail the marinas that are the best fit for your criteria. Have a list of things that you expect to find at the marina and find out if the marina can accommodate those things. If the marina can't, ask for a referral to one that can.
