Things You'll Need:

  • Ghosts
  1. Step 1

Create or purchase small ghost figures. Candles, soaps and toys are available in ghostly shapes during the Halloween season.

  2. Step 2

Hide the ghosts in your house or back yards before your Halloween Party guest arrive. Use "glow in the dark" ghosts for evening ghost hunts.

  3. Step 3

Assign arriving guests a number. Remind the kids to remember their number when it is time to hunt ghosts.

  4. Step 4

Form teams using the assigned numbers. Call all "ones" to form your first team and continue until all guests are on a ghost hunting team.

  5. Step 5

Show your little ghost hunters the type of ghosts you have hidden. Inform your guests you need some assistance cleaning your house of ghosts.

  6. Step 6

Set a time limit for the party game and send your teams on a Halloween ghost hunt.

  7. Step 7

Reward the team that finds the most hidden ghosts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make some of the ghosts easy to find and others more difficult to accommodate various age and skill ranges among your guests.
  • Randomly choose the teams. This prevents any child from feeling left out of a group.
  • Adults should assist very small children during this Halloween party game especially if the ghost hunt occurs in the dark.
