1
Keep a list of all the activities that you have planned for your outdoor Halloween extravaganza. Make another list of items you need to purchase or gather for the games.
-
2
Plan some traditional Halloween activities. If appropriate for the age of your party guests, set up an area for pumpkin carving or painting. Bobbing for apples is always entertaining, as is the traditional Halloween haunted hayride. A spooky scavenger hunt can be fun as well.

3
Choose some new favorites to add to your activity list. As a twist on the Easter egg hunt, have a miniature pumpkin hunt. Mark certain pumpkins as prize winning pumpkins. Dress someone up as a zombie and play zombie tag. You can also find many fun and scary outdoor Halloween games online (see References below.)
-
4
Set up the activities during the day on Halloween. This way you can have plenty of light and can better gauge where to play the games.
-
5
Have a back-up plan. The danger of having outdoor activities is that bad weather may mess up your plans. Make a list of the planned outdoor games that can be modified easily to move indoors. Add to that list any games or activities that would be good indoor back ups.
-
6
Tell the guests in your invitation that there will be outdoor activities so they can dress accordingly.
-
7
Take safety into consideration when planning your activities. Think about lighting and where the Halloween decorations are set up. You don't want anyone getting injured in the dark.
