There are several ways to generate income from your website. Using a pay-per-click source of revenue such as Google Adsense is a relatively painless way for you to make money with minimum effort. Follow these steps to generate enough traffic to make your site pay off.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Do everything you can to make sure your website can be seen by search engines. This includes setting up metatag descriptions and keywords, adequately naming your pages, and prioritizing headlines and subheads. Also, get other sites to link to yours by requesting the links from their web masters. The more traffic you can drive to your site, the more money you'll earn.
Step2
Go to the Google Adsense website and register for an account. The site will take you through each step in creating Google ads to display on your page.
Step3
Copy and past HTML code generated by Adsense into the website page where you want the ads to appear. If you can, put the ads on your template, so they'll be linked to every page on your site.
Step4
You can place Google ads in up to three spots on your pages. Do this to maximize their exposure and increase the likelihood a visitor will click on them.
Step5
Use the same process to add a Google search box and product referral links to your pages. These pay you if someone clicks on an ad when performing a search of your site or the Net and when they try out Google products.
Step6
Have Google Adsense check your site to see if there are any blocked URLs or steps they can recommend to optimize your website. Apply the changes.
Step7
Once your pages are up, you'll notice that all of the ads will relate to the content of your pages. This increases the likelihood a visitor will click on one of the ads.
