Choose a few Broadway shows you want to see. Your chances for success at finding cheap tickets are greater if you broaden your choices.
-
2
Search for discounted tickets at online sites such as Playbill Online, Hit Show Club, Theater Mania and Broadway Box. They list discounts for each show, date and time. They offer free e-newsletters sign ups, which alert you to the most recent bargains.

Wait until you arrive in New York City to find discounts. A popular source is TKTS which has two booths located in Manhattan (at Times Square and South Street Seaport). TKTS offers 25 to 50 percent off same day Broadway show tickets and each booth typically posts a list of available tickets each morning.

Try to obtain rush tickets or standing room only which are both cheap tickets available a few hours before the show. Your best bet is to call the show's box office, which usually is extremely helpful in telling you the availability.

5
Contact your hotel's concierge. The concierge may have a connection or source for discounted tickets.
-
6
Volunteer to usher at your show of choice. The Frugal Theater Goer website lists a number of theater organizations to contact about ushering opportunities.
