How to Lose 75 lbs with Photoshop

Photoshop is a program that revolutionized photo development and editing. With the click of a mouse, you are able to edit and develop your own photos. You can also lose weight digitally; in fact, following a few easy steps, you can lose 75 lbs. with Photoshop.

      Open the picture on which you wish to work, and create a new layer above it. Type "D." This will set the background colors and default foreground.

      Create a crescent shape. The shape should open up toward the top of the picture. Select the pen tool, and click on "shape layers." Click the mouse at the back corner of the jaw line, then drag close to the front of the jaw line. Click and drag near the bottom of the chin, then along the jaw line on the opposite side of the face.

      Click and drag below the neck to a point on the neck, then click on the first point to finish the shape. There should be a dark, almost crescent shape extending from the jaw line to below the chin.

      Use the direct selection tool to line the shape more closely with the jaw line. Type "Shift-A" to toggle between the black arrow (the Path Select Tool) and the white arrow (the Direct Selection Tool). Line the shape directly with the jaw line by clicking and dragging the anchor points. Turn the layer off by clicking on the eye icon on the layer palette.

      Type "Control-Shift-N" ("Command-Shift-N" for Macs), then click "OK." This creates a new layer. Hold the "Control" key ("Command" key for Macs) and click on the shape at the same time to create a section.

      Fill the foreground color with black by typing "Alt-Backspace" ("Option-Delete" for Macs). Deselect by typing "Control-D" ("Command-D" for Macs). Change the capacity of the layer by typing 5. Select Filter, Blur, Gaussian Blur. Choose 1 or 2 pixels, or higher for should the resolution be higher resolution images, then click "OK."

      Choose Layer, Add Layer Mask, Reveal All to create a layer mask. Click "B" to select the Brush Tool, and make certain it is about 20 to 50 pixels. Make the brush opacity 40 by typing "4." Begin painting on the mask near the bottom of the shadow. Mask most of the bottom portion of the shadow, but don't cover it completely.

      Experiment with the shadow by changing the opacity of the layer to about 20 percent. Make it look real by adjusting the opacity of the layer and masking and unmasking the layer. Be subtle. Put a slight shadow in the space between the person's collar and their neck.

      Make a new layer by typing "Control-Shift-N" ("Command-Shift-N" for Macs). Type "Collar Shadow" to name the layer, then click "OK." Select the pen tool by typing "P" and then the Paths option.

      Select a 3 to 5 pixel brush, set the brush opacity 100 percent by typing "0" and then click the Paths palette. Click "Stoke Path" with the brush icon.

      Deselect the blank space below the path by clicking on the Paths palette, then click the Layers palette. The opacity level should be changed to about 30 percent. Blur the layer if the shadow is to sharp.

  • Be subtle. Don't make the shadows too dark, and don't make the changes too drastic.
