- Videos in the correct format
- Video converting software for videos in wrong format
- Home access to the Internet, as most libraries won't let you use videos on their computers.

Make sure your video is in a suitable file format before you upload: .WMV, .AVI, .MOV and .MPG are the only formats accepted by YouTube.

Use downloadable video conversion software. Some will be free, but most will cost you.

Download one you like. All you need it to do is convert from the format your movie is in to a format listed in Step 1.

Visit your local computer software store.

Read the backs of video converter software and choose one.

Buy a video converter. Most of these are inexpensive.

Convert your files if they are in an unsuitable format.

Create file folders with easy-to-remember names, such as "music videos," "home videos" and "funny videos."

Add sub-folders if desired. Examples of good sub-folder names would be the name of people in them or the dates they were recorded.

Place your original folders on your C Drive or extra drive. This is the best location for most folders.

Go to YouTube and sign in.

Click "Upload" on the main page.

Enter the title, description, tags and category for the video.

Click "Upload a Video."

Browse the location of your files and choose the one you want to upload.
