Do you enjoy drinking Capri Suns or other juices that come in pouches? Don't throw away those pouches--you can recycle them and make fun purses and other items. This is a great arts and crafts project for young children who pack a lunch. It also teaches a valuable lesson about recycling. The following steps will show you how to turn drink pouches into usable items.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Five juice pouches
  • Hole punch
  • Duct tape
  • Ribbon, beads or other handle material
  1. Step 1

Drink at least five juices that comes in pouches. Place a slit in the bottom of each pouch in the area that is hidden from view by the front and rear panels. Rinse out the pouches.

  2. Step 2

Place the pouches on a dish towel and roll them out with a rolling pin. This will remove excess water and make them flat.

  3. Step 3

Lay the pouches flat, picture side down, and tape the edges. All pouches should be vertical--there will be one in the top row (center), three in the middle row, and one in the bottom row (center).

  4. Step 4

Fold up all the flaps except for the middle one, which is the base.

  5. Step 5

Make sure all of the flaps are securely taped at the edges. You can use colored duct tape on the outside of the purse or tape on the inside.

  6. Step 6

Using a hole punch, place a hole in the two pouches on the ends that stand higher than the rest.

  7. Step 7

Add a handle of your choice. You can use a beaded handle, a feather boa that has been cut to size or a decorative ribbon. Use your imagination.
